Good evening .Located in Sibiu-Romania,50yo,willing to buy an Volvo xc70(year 2003-2007).We have 2 cars,one Mb c220 cdi,year 2000,and the second car-A3 tdi quattro,year 2002,both diesel and manual gearbox.We buyed a little house in the forest,and we need a higher awd car.I have two questions,please.First question,should i buy the 163ps diesel engine or the newest 185 ps diesel engine?The second question is better manual gearbox or the automatic gearbox?I am tempted to buy manual gearbox,less surprises i think.Meanwhile greetings from Romania.
The different between the D5/163 and the D5/185 is that the 163 is a bit cheaper to drive. I read that the D5/163 only takes (swedish 0,45 liter / milen ). The D5/185 is a bit cheaper in tax here in Sweden.
The information i could share is if you compare the owners of automatic or manual gearbox is that they prefer manual transmission because they save a bit of fuel.
On the whole, it is not so much to compare between these. But you can save a bit of fuel and tax money
